The new + improved SofTouch™ Bottle & Teat range

Designed from over 70 years of breastfeeding research, we’re excited to announce our new SofTouch™ Bottle and Teat range now rolling out online and in-store at our retail partners.

With the same functions as you know and love, our new SofTouch™ Bottles & Teats have been improved to feature an even softer teat and encourage a smoother feed from breast to bottle. 

Our SofTouch™ Bottles were created to support mothers to continue breastfeeding for as long as they want. The design of our teats mimics the natural drinking pattern of a baby drinking from their mother’s breast by promoting the same 3 feeding movements - latching, sucking and swallowing. 

As with all of our SofTouch™ range, our teats come with an air ventilation system that adjusts air pressure inside the bottle to support constant milk flow and helps reduce the chances of colic. 

So, how have our bottles & teats been improved? We’re glad you asked. There are two new main features that encourage a seamless switch from breast to bottle:

Seamless switching between breast to bottle

The new SofTouch™ Teats have two main new features that encourage a seamless switch for a baby between their mother’s breast to bottle.

1. Super soft teat

We’ve made our teats even softer, making the feeding experience even closer to a mother’s breast. How? The soft silicone rubber allows the baby to complete smooth peristaltic tongue movements, similarly to the natural feeding experience, which reduces nipple confusion when combination feeding. 

If you’re already a Pigeon SofTouch™ user, you’ll be happy to know that our new teats are 100% compatible with all new and old SofTouch™ bottles.

2. Environmentally friendly

The bottle, cap and hood are now attributed with 20% bio mass plastic (renewable organic materials, like plants, that are derived from living organisms. Biomass plastics are an alternative to petroleum-based plastics and are considered to be more environmentally friendly.)

It’s what’s inside that counts

Our SofTouch™ Bottles are now available in 4 different materials, so you can pick the material that best suits you and your baby needs.

1. PP Bottle

Made from durable, light-weight plastic, the SofTouch™ PP Bottle is suitable for low to regular use and is BPA and BPS free. These bottles can handle a heat resistance of up to 110ºC.

2. Glass Bottle

The SofTouch™ Glass Bottle is perfect for transparency, are BPA and BPS free, and will last years and years for unlimited usage. These bottles are made from Borosilicate Glass material and are able to withstand high temperature (120ºC) sterilisation process.

3. T-Ester

This is our newest innovative material, T-Ester, used for our SofTouch™ Bottles that provides premium clarity (similar to glass) and has a stronger resistance to UV degradation compared to other plastics. 

After 100 hours continuous UV sterilisation, T-Ester remains unchanged.

4. PPSU

Welcoming back the PPSU Bottles to the SofTouch™ range! These are one of our best-selling bottles that have been out of stock for a while due to a global shortage. They are loved by many Pigeon parents around the world as they are made from a super durable Polyphensylsulfone (PPSU) material that is able to withstand high temperature sterilisation (180ºC). PPSU is widely used in manufacturing medical and food-contact products. The colour of the bottle is the natural colour of this material.
